SUMOTORI Japan was proud to support the 2026 Joshin Tenno Festival, also known locally as the Benten Festival, held on June 9 and 10 in Nagoya’s Nishi Ward. The annual event is a well-established early-summer tradition centered around the Benten-dori and Egawabata shopping streets, bringing together local residents, families, businesses and visitors.
Over the two days, the festival welcomed approximately 26,500 visitors, including around 13,500 people on June 9 and 13,000 on June 10. With the support of sponsors and the dedicated work of the Joshin Tenno Festival Executive Committee, the event was successfully completed without any serious incidents or accidents.
Sponsorship contributions supported essential festival operations, including security services, temporary restroom facilities, waste collection stations and other measures required to provide visitors with a safe and comfortable environment.
“The Executive Committee prioritized creating a safe and welcoming environment for all participants. Thanks to the sincere support of our sponsors, we were able to conduct a successful event without incident and share our local traditions with the community.”
— Fumio Sawai, Chairman of the Joshin Tenno Matsuri Executive Committee
