From your buying brief to shipment from Japan

The clearing agent confirms the complete file for the shipment, including the bill of lading, invoice, Japanese export record, roadworthiness certificate, and the information needed for the Tanzania Single Administrative Document.

Use the TRA used motor vehicle valuation system and the exact vehicle details before setting the buying ceiling. Tax assessment can differ by model, engine capacity, body type, manufacture year, and customs treatment.
Taxes, levies, and age-related charges
Import duty, excise duty, VAT, customs levies, and any age-related treatment depend on the exact unit and current rules. Ask the clearing agent to calculate the assessment from the verified vehicle data rather than a generic online estimate.
Clearance in Tanzania
After arrival, the importer completes customs clearance, any required physical verification, port release, and the application for the Tanzanian motor vehicle registration card. Local fees and procedures remain the importer’s responsibility.
